A CONVERSATION WITH AL & IEN

AL: “The times are pretty much changing…”

IEN: “Yep, it is. It has become more complicated when it ought to have been happy and simple”

AL: “Technology was meant to bridge the distance between people, but sadly they have built the wall higher than ever.”

IEN: “Hmm…but it isn’t fair to blame the tech, its people who are not up to it or evolved enough to use it wisely…”

AL: “I agree, I mean how, many people have a serious conversation on life, its beauty or just enjoy a beautiful dawn. If at all they indulge in, it’s a momentary slip from a plugged life.”

“The novelty of a true relationship is drowning. If a mother wants to know what’s going on with her kids, she must check his or her social media status and funny thing is when you call it social media, don’t you think it’s quite ironic?”

IEN: “Yes, worth a thought. But then think about the other side of the coin. With a click you could connect with your loved ones, virtually join them in joy and pain. Comfort them, adore them…”

AL: “Or curse them…”

“Yes, that’s the positive side of it, but then don’t you think people who are less sensible tend to use it as a means to spread hatred and violence. Waste precious moments in life to seep in the seeds of division and war. Spreading misinformation and creating chaos…”

IEN: “Well, that’s the sad part of being human. They are programmed to be unstable and chaotic.”

Both AL and IEN nodded in affirmative…

Sleep

The night was long and cold,
Lying on the wet mud he could see flaming stars,
The blanket of red clouds covered the sky,
As the rain pierced in, like sharpened knives…

Slowly drowning in the waters of memories,
Hands pulled him up and threw up…

Flying now among the clouds,
Light passed through his veins,
Sieving into his eyes…

A twirling asteroid hit the light,
Scattered in the vacuum,
He was floating among the speckles,

Traveling far and fast into the woods,
The white leaves held him in their palm,
Slowly letting him down to the ground…

Whispering winds of lullaby,
The warmth of love,
Guiding him into sleep again…

The Street

It was a cloudy evening. The clock had struck Five and everyone was rushing back.
On the corner of the street, a large gathering was shouting and screaming.

“Beat that bloody scoundrel…” a well-dressed guy in his late twenties was screaming. He was feeling a sense of supremacy. The master locked deep inside him had broken the shackles and woken up. From the slave act in the house and office, he was now the master of the moment. Lot of young lads echoed with him. One lad from the group came rushing to the man and struck him hard with his fist.

“Well done. He deserved it…” a young lady applauded. Her friends beside her was comforting her. The lady was wearing very plush attire with loud make up. She was feeling a deep satisfaction inside. A momentary relief from her frustrated marriage life, which was fabricated in the balance of economics.

The lad who was beating the guy was pulsating with pride. Deep inside he felt a sense of accomplishment which he couldn’t achieve in his twenty years. Twenty years of wasted life had now a greater meaning. He thought to himself. His friends was egging him for more…

In the group there were some young teenage girls who were giggling and whispering to each other. Lost in the voice of the crowd they were watching the event like a comic circus. A temporary escape from the torture hollow books and teachers. An event to brag about with their friends during the recess…

At the other end of the street a policeman was chewing tobacco. A passerby asked him to just look into the matter. Spitting the tobacco, he said to him, “Let the people sort it out. My shift if going to end. Let the other guy handle the matter.” The policeman had a really good outing with cash stacked in from a builder to handle the slum dwellers.

The blood was dripping and his eyes had soared. He was an old man lying in his ground.
“He tried to molest me. I was coming out the parlor and this guy from behind…” the lady was talking to the ground.
“Bloody old fucking troll…” the well-dressed guy said.

Into the crowd an old lady came running. In her hands were some medicines. She was crying heavily.
“Where my dear, where is he…” she said in broken voice. “Oh dear lord, what happened to you…”
She took her handkerchief and cleaned his bruise. “Who did this to you dear?”
He was smiling when he saw her…

Everyone was silenced for a moment. For a moment.

Then the young lady spoke. “You know what your bloody old husband did? He tried to abuse me”.
“Oh yes” echoed the crowd.
The old lady wiping the wound and holding her husband looked straight into the eyes of the lady.
“Abused. Do you know the meaning of abuse…?”
The young lady deep inside truly knew the meaning of abuse and in contract of marriage the abuse is replaced by the word “compromise”.
“We had lost our daughter. She would have been exactly your age. Bubbly smart girl, but never like you, because she had heart of an angel. And angel took away from us…”

Suddenly the rain came pouring as the feeble crowd dissolved in the drops of reality...

The old lady held the hands of her husband, and got up. They slowly walked together into the oblivion. Never again the street saw them again…

The Wheel

In the grey jungle,
The giant wheel is spinning,
The motion of mechanics,
Oiled by the greasy pence…

Everyone is in the spiral loop,
Circling around the vertigo,
Chasing and dragging down,
In the circumference…

Some are behind the fame,
Some driven by the greed,
Some were strangling humanity,
While some trailing behind the race…

Masked in the lies of deceit,
Revolving in the circle of make belief,
Masking in the wilderness of ignorance,
Spinning on with the shadow of time,
The wheel had jaded into rust,
And the creaking voice crept in,
As the countdown began…

Snapping from the anchor,
The wheel rolled into the wilderness,
As the veil of illusion vanished in the reality,
Holding the glass of time,

The horizon sunk the wheel…

The Clock

The time was ticking backwards,

When the life was uncomplicated and full,

The sky and the green embraced in unison,

The fragrance of innocence blossomed,

The branches of love was rooted in trust,

Leaves of compassion waved in the air of peace,

The time was raining in joy…

The time slowly moved forward,

As the lives construed in need,

The sky and green turned grey,

The pollute of need fumed in the air,

The roots of desire withered the love,

And the leaves rotted in the hour of greed…

The clock was ticking fast,

Bleeding in Red,

The guns were loaded,

The missiles flamed,

And the final target  locked,

Bang, the loud sound dissolved in vacuum,

As the clock was ceased by the moment...
